I started writing poetry when I was in high school. The ability to convey meaning through rhythm was already familiar to me in music and songwriting, but to suddenly be thrust into the world of limerik and verse in a more dynamic and sometimes structured way thrilled me. As I grow and evolve in an ever-changing world, I feel it is necessary for all of us to find as many ways to express ourselves as possible. While not every attempt will stick with you, I feel poetry did and it has enabled me to covey sensation in a way that film and theatre do not. I am still on my journey of self-discovery and even the poems of a sillier or more humorous nature have allowed me passage into finding my voice. I appreciate what poetry can do for me and strive to "prove my worth" to it. Here, you can find poems I've written.
